Dr. Deloris Harris, MFT, Dmin Post Graduate
Hello. My name is Dr. Deloris L. Harris, Marriage, Family and Couples Therapist (MFT). I hold a Master’s Degree in Divinity with an emphasis in Pastoral Care and Counseling, a Doctor of Ministry Degree with certification in Advanced Self-Psychology and Religious Counseling. I am a Certified Pastoral Care Counselor, Certified Domestic Violence Counselor, and a Life Coach. I have extensive training in Social Security claims and benefits, and Veterans disability claims, specifically addressing PTSD biopsychosocial evaluations. I am a people person and a life-long learner. I believe in pursuing and accomplishing your dreams. My first career was as a federal employee, but my passion was not being fulfilled, I have always wanted to be a counselor. I love helping people. So, I went back to school to get the proper credentials to become a therapist. When I can, I love going to the beach for rest and relaxation.
Do you feel you are at a crossroad in your life? Is your marriage in trouble? Are you having issues of your own and you feel the need to talk to someone that can help you figure it out? I would like to help you. I offer sessions in an office in Fayetteville, GA. where you the client will be accepted unconditionally, feel supported, and no conditions will be placed on you being accepted by me as the therapist. This means I will show complete support and acceptance of you no matter what you say or do, whether you are expressing “good” behaviors and emotions or “bad” ones. My goal is to help you increase your self-worth.
Therapy, and more specifically, psychotherapy is the treatment of mental conditions by verbal communication and interaction. It is simply talk therapy that can help a person eliminate or control troubling problems and issues with daily life so they can function better and can increase well-being and healing. The problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in daily life, the impact of trauma, medical illness, or loss like death of a loved one, and specific mental disorders like depression or anxiety.
