When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Is it a person full of self-doubt or self-acceptance? Relationships are essential to our humaness and it’s important for us to foster a healthy relationship with ourselves. Take a moment to go look into a mirror, what do you see? Now, allow yourself to be vulnerable for a moment while looking into that mirror; what do you see now; how do you feel? What would you like to see? What would it take to become the version of yourself that you prefer to see in the mirror?
Relationships are essential, especially the one you have with yourself.
One of the most important relationships we will be in for the rest of our lives is the relationship with ourselves. There are factors that may contribute to us falling out of love with ourselves, which leads us to want to escape our realities. Then, we jump into relationships with others, expecting them to love us how we desire to be loved. The problem is that we don’t know what love mean. Nor do we know how it should look because of the lack of love we have for ourselves. How can we ever learn to love others if we struggle to love ourselves? To outwardly foster a positive and healthy relationship, we must build that within ourselves first.
