Hello my name is Sonya Dunham, a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapy intern with a rich background in pastoral ministry and veteran support. Formerly a Chaplain intern at a leading Atlanta hospital, Sonya has honed her skills in providing compassionate care to diverse populations, taking into account cultural and ethnic nuances.
Having retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Veterans Service Representative, Sonya’s commitment to ensuring veterans receive their entitled compensation and pension is evident. She holds a Master of Divinity from Mercer University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree specializing in marriage and family therapy at Capella University. Sonya also possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Administration from Saint Leo University.
As an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Delta Kappa Honor Society, and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (Student Division), Sonya is deeply engaged in her professional community. Married to Edwin and the mother of Maya (23 years old), Sonya extends her expertise to the community by mentoring educators and offering intervention services to students across various learning domains.
