Working as a Pastoral Counselor for the past 10 years Turiya has gained experience with helping people dealing with life transitions, family conflict, anxiety, stress, depression, divorce, trauma, grief and loss. For over 5 years she has also worked as a youth teacher and mentor for teens ages 13-17 this is where she acquired the skill to listen with a nonjudgmental ear. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Counseling/Human Services from Point University and is currently working towards her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has a specific interest in working with Individuals, Families, Couples, Blended families, Pre-Marital and Marriage counseling. Her approach to counseling is Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy but typically is tailored to fit the needs of the client. She has learned from the mental health profession that the key component to change is motivation and being committed to the therapeutic process. Her goal as a therapist is to help people take back control over their lives. She is Prepare enriched certified and student member of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
